Stories, ideas and useful notes from CIÉLAN.
Here we share the things behind the collection, from choosing the right fabric to caring for silk and understanding the small details that make our pieces part of everyday life.
SILK VS. SATIN: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
Silk and satin are often treated as the same thing, but they are not.
Silk is a natural fibre. Satin describes a type of weave and finish, which means satin can be made from different fibres.
At CIÉLAN, we offer two different fabric experiences: Natural Silk and Silk Satin.
Natural Silk
Natural Silk has a soft and smooth feel with a subtle natural lustre. It feels delicate against the skin and has a naturally refined appearance.
Its smooth surface creates less friction against the hair during sleep, which can help reduce pulling and rubbing.
Silk Satin
Silk Satin has a smooth, fluid surface with a more noticeable sheen. It feels sleek against the skin and glides easily over the hair.
It is a good choice if you prefer a more luminous finish and a smooth, silky feel.
Which one should you choose?
It depends on the feeling you prefer.
Choose Natural Silk if you prefer a softer and more natural finish.
Choose Silk Satin if you prefer a smoother surface with more shine.
Both are designed around the same idea: comfort, softness and a more considered everyday ritual.
WHY WE MADE THE CIÉLAN BONNET
The CIÉLAN Bonnet was created from a simple idea.
Something we wear to sleep should feel comfortable, look beautiful and fit naturally into our routine.
The bonnet is designed to cover the hair while you sleep and create a smooth surface between the fabric and your hair.
Each bonnet has a standard size of 50 to 56 cm, with custom sizing available on request.
We make our bonnets in selected colours and fabrics, including Natural Silk and Silk Satin.
The details matter to us. From the shape and elastic to the way the bonnet sits on the head, every part is considered with comfort in mind.
The result is a simple piece that becomes part of your nightly routine.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SILK
Silk needs a little more care than everyday fabrics, but the routine is simple.
Always check the care instructions for your specific CIÉLAN piece before washing.
When washing silk, use a gentle detergent intended for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach and harsh cleaning products.
Cold or cool water is generally the safer choice for delicate silk pieces.
Avoid twisting or wringing the fabric. After washing, gently press out excess water and allow the piece to dry naturally away from direct heat and strong sunlight.
For storage, keep silk in a clean and dry place. Avoid storing it in a tightly compressed space for long periods.
With the right care, silk can remain soft, smooth and beautiful for much longer.
MADE IN GEORGIA
CIÉLAN was created in Georgia.
Our pieces are developed with attention to the details that make everyday products feel personal and considered.
We began with a small collection of silk accessories and pieces designed around sleep, beauty and home rituals.
The collection continues to grow gradually, with each new piece chosen for a reason.
For us, Made in Georgia is not simply a label. It is part of the story of CIÉLAN and the way the brand is being built.
THE EVERYDAY SILK RITUAL
Some things become part of your routine without you noticing.
A bonnet before bed. A soft pillowcase. Your favourite hair accessory in the morning.
These are small things, but they are used every day.
That is what we like about silk. It does not need to be reserved for special occasions. It can simply become part of the way you sleep, get ready and spend time at home.
CIÉLAN was created around these everyday moments.
Not to make life more complicated, but to make the familiar things feel a little more beautiful.
CIÉLAN
Made in Georgia.
Created for everyday rituals.
